/MPC – Media Press Center – Olimpíadas 2016

The MPC (Media Press Center) is part of the Media Complex of the Rio 2016 Olympic Park. The challenge of the project was to create a building that would meet demand during the games, as well as an efficient and iconic building in its legacy.

The volumetry of the project with staggered heights, breaks with angles and facade treatments with contrasting textures, aim to soften the scale of the architectural complex, diversifying the perspectives of the project in the city landscape.

The project built is the first phase of a set of 4 commercial towers, arranged in two blocks, with entire basements composed of shops open to the public, access is via a generous pedestrian boulevard. The urban insertion of the complex seeks to be a reference for the development of a new neighborhood in Barra da Tijuca, valuing the pedestrian's relationship with the surroundings.
